Great story in the LA Times about the infamous Marion Davies/William Randolph Hearst beach house in Santa Monica. Worth a read for the history, glamour and the insane price Davies sold the estate for in 1945! Ouch!!! only $600,000 for what she called a 'white elephant'. Only in Hollywood!
